The Founder of Salt and Light Ministries Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee has stated that cooking for one’s husband cannot be seen as slavery as advocated by some feminists.

She believes wives cooking for their husbands should not be regarded as a herculean task which puts additional burden on them.

She indicated that men can help their wives in the kitchen if they are under the weather.

Some feminists have argued on social media that cooking for one’s husband is a form of slavery which needs to end.

But speaking with Francis Abban on Morning Starr, the former Information Minister said, ‘I don’t think cooking for your husband can be seen as slavery, no I don’t think so…As a man, you can help your wife in the kitchen or just be around to chat with her.

‘If your wife comes back from work and she is tired, and she must hurriedly prepare food and all that, at least the man must go into the kitchen and stand by her and help her out’.

The former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines indicated that it is not wrongful for people not to marry saying God does not hate people who decide not to marry.

‘Marriage…is a decision that we must allow people to make…there are people in the Bible who never got married and God didn’t say they’ve done anything wrong,’ she said.
