Actress and CEO of Mango’s restaurant, Luckie Lawson has debunked criticisms that a recent donation, she was part of, was for media attention.

According to her, the donation with actress Yvonne Okoro and her siblings during the Christmas festivities was a goodwill gesture.

Ms Lawson together with the Okoro sisters – Yvonne, Roseline and Elizabeth – were at Opeibea House to feed some street children. They also gave out blankets, clothes, deodorants, tubes of toothpaste, slippers, towels and other items.

They were, however, criticised by many that they only did the donation for the cameras to gunner likes on social media.

One of the critics said, “you only feed the homeless kids on festive seasons, video them and post on social media. But all through the year, you roll up your car windows to them.”

But reacting to the criticisms in an interview with JoyNews’ Doreen Avio, Ms Lawson stated that what they embarked upon was a genuine gesture to inspire and encourage others to also reach out to people.
