Mbanza-Kongo — The voluntary and organised repatriation process of Angolan refugees in DR Congo, which was suspended last 22 November, was resumed Friday, with the arrival of 223 refugees in Mbanza-Kongo, northern Zaire Province.
The information was released Saturday by the provincial director of Welfare and Social Reintegration, Madalena das Dores.
The official mentioned 67 families as having been transported in a convoy from the border commune of Luvo, 60km north of the province’s capital city, Mbanza-Kongo.
Since the beginning of operation, on 4 November this year, some 1.263 Angolan refugees have already returned from DR Congo.
