Luanda — The 6th military sports games, closing Saturday in Soyo District, northern Zaire Province, were considered positive as they enable socialisation among the soldiers from different branches and regions, as well as contribute to the reinforcement of combative readiness.

The fact was acknowledged by the deputy chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) for Patriotic Education, Egídio de Sousa Santos “Disciplina”, at a press conference meant to assess the 6th military games, which started on 13 November, involving about 1.500 athletes of the general headquarters, army, navy and air force.

Among the sports, the general mentioned football, handball, basketball, athletics, chess, five-a-side football, volleyball, boxing, taikwando, among others.

According to him, the games boost the cohesion and combative and patriotic readiness within armed forces staff.
