Cameia — At least 4,168 children from nine months to 12 years of age were immunised in the Cameia district, eastern Moxico province, against measles, as part of campaign to eradicate the epidemic, held on June 04-21.
This was released Wednesday by the city supervisor of the Wide Vaccination Programme (PAV), Fernando Capumba, noting that the campaign ran smoothly giving the collaboration of parents who brought their children to the three posts fixed in the city and around the village.
He informed that this month the hospital reported six cases of measles, prompting health authorities to conduct a campaign of eradication.
According to the provincial department of health, the municipalities of Luau, Cameia and Moxico are the most infected, with a total of 200 cases diagnosed in the last two months.
