Ondjiva — Several primary and secondary school students in Ondjiva City, southern Cunene Province, on Thursday attended a lecture on the country’s national symbols, aimed at preserving national identity.

The event, jointly promoted by the provincial board of education, children’s organisation OPA and the Children’s National Institute (INAC), is part of the celebrations of African Children’s Day, June 16, aiming at strengthening the spirit of patriotism in students.

The lecture was aimed intended to divulge the country’s national symbols, deeds and historical figures.

According to the co-ordinator of the event, Geraldo Ndafenongo, with this lecture the students will know more about the country and stimulate their patriotic feeling.

The lecture was attended by about 1,200 children aged between 12 and 17.
