First Refugees Expected to Arrive in Luena Thursday

Luena — The first Angolan refugees, to be received by the eastern Moxico province, are expected to arrive on Thursday in Luena district.

According to a press note from the documentation and information centre of the local government, which reached Angop on Thursday, a multi-sectorial delegation, led by the Deputy Minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, Maria da Luz, is going to attend the beginning of the operation in Luanda.

The document reads that the first citizens to arrive in Luena district, in the ambit of the voluntary repatriation process, are coming from Zambia.

After the refugees’ reception at the airport of Luena district, the delegation is visiting the temporary sheltering centre in Sacassange locality.
