5 June 2011 Luanda — The Riot Police commander, commissioner Alfredo Lourenço Quintino "Nilo", said Saturday in Luanda, that his forces will continue upgrading the levels of preparation and reinforce vigilance seeking a fiercer fight against violent and organised crime in the country. The officer was addressing the main event of the celebrations of the Riot Police's 19th anniversary. He said on the occasion there is need for an elevation of the levels of preparation, training and techno-professional upgrading of the forces

Luanda — The Mozambican Parliament speaker, Verónica Nataniel Macamo Dlhovo, Saturday paid a homage to the founder of the Angolan Nation, Antonio Agostinho Neto, with the laying of a wreath by his statue, at Luanda’s “Independência” Square.

Verónica Macamo who is travelling Sunday to northern Bengo province to learn about the local reality, will attend the 29th session of the Parliamentary Forum of the Southern Africa Development Forum (SADC), scheduled for June 5-12.

The SADC Parliamentary Forum was established on September 8, 1997, during the SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in Windhoek, Namibia.

The meeting will bring together SADC countries’ MP to discuss parliamentary cooperation.

It will also seek to reinforce the SADC execution capacity through the participation of MPs in the activities of the organisation. It is intended to be a forum for discussion of matters of interest to the member countries and facilitate the implementation of regional policies and projects.
