IF elected into office, an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) led government will embark on exploration of oil in potential areas of the Northern part of the country as a way of boosting the economy of the region, presidential candidate of the party, Nuhu Ribadu, has pledged.
Ribadu who made the pledge in Bauchi yesterday during his campaign rally said the exploration will be specifically carried out in Bauchi, Borno and other parts of the North with potential oil deposits.
He said apart from oil, other potential mineral resources that abound in the North such as uranium (in Gombe) would also be explored in order to place the North properly on the economic map of Nigeria.
While promising that the ACN would be a departure from the failure of the ruling PDP government, the ACN presidential candidate said: “Change has come to Nigeria (Bauchi inclusive), God has heard our cries for a positive change and we will work for the masses, particularly the youth.
The ACN governorship candidate for Bauchi, Senator Baba Tella, called on the electorate to vote for the ACN, saying: “ACN represents change. We will sweep away corruption and be a departure from the PDP government that has made promises but failed to keep.”
