Key political figures have rallied support for the senatorial ambition of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kano Central Senatorial District Basheer Garba Lado.
The Minister of National Planning, Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Daggash, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Aliyu Umar Modibbo, ex-National Chairman of the PDP, Dr Ahmadu Ali, and the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Engr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje attended the dinner/fundraiser which was organized by his friends at his Maitama residence at the weekend.
The event for Lado, who is an Abuja-based businessman and former in-law to ex-Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, was also graced by Alhaji Rufai Jose (businessman), the governorship candidate of the PDP in Kogi State Alhaji Isa Jibrin Echocho, Ken Saro-Wiwa Junior, former Chairman of Airtel and now an Executive Director of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Alh Lawal Bello, Charlie Anosike, Hajiya Iyal Labaran, Dr Phil Agbaso and Alhaji Iyal Abubakar.
