Goal : Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has accepted the blame for Tottenham’s opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Harry Redknapp’s side at White Hart Lane on Thursday.
The 29-year-old missed an opportunity to cut-out Gareth Bale’s low cross, allowing Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor to score.
The Czech Republic international was also at blame for spilling a shot at the DW Stadium last weekend and allowing Wigan to get a late equaliser, and the shot-stopper has now conceded he was at fault in the London derby.
Cech told reporters on Friday: “Unfortunately, when the ball came in, I was a bit late and he [Adebayor] tapped it in but it was a great cross, and I think I missed it by an inch.
“Unfortunately, there was a goal in the last two minutes [against Wigan] where somebody went across and I couldn’t see the ball and it fell to a player to tap it in, which was a pity, but that’s the way football goes sometimes.”
