Two women were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the N1 in the Karoo, Western Cape Traffic Management said on Saturday.
“One woman fell out of the vehicle and died. The other one burnt to death,” said the province’s traffic management chief director Kenny Africa.
He said a tyre on a trailer attached to the vehicle burst while the vehicle was travelling on the N1 between Three Sister and Richmond.
“The driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.”
Africa said a man and his two children, aged 8 and 9, who were also in the vehicle, escaped unscathed. – Sapa
