Arsenal are ready to submit Ryo Miyaichi‘s work permit application which will decide the Japanese teenager’s immediate future with the club.

Miyaichi, 18, has impressed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in pre-season following a successful six-month loan stint in the Netherlands with Feyenoord.

The youngster has featured in a number of Arsenal’s pre-season games and is hopeful of being part of their squad for the Emirates Cup, which begins this Saturday with a match against Boca Juniors.

It is understood the Gunners expect an answer on Miyaichi’s “special talent” work permit application by mid-August.

The club has had mixed success with work permits in the past, with players such as Wellington Silva and Carlos Vela.

Feyenoord have acknowledged they could be keen on taking Miyaichi on loan again this season if his United Kingdom work permit bid is unsuccessful.
