A high court judge hearing a petition against Rubaga North MP, Singh Katongole, on Friday lost his temper and prematurely ended cross examination of a witness by lawyers representing the NRM deputy treasurer.

Justice Vincent Kibuuka Musoke was angered when lawyers Dr. James Akampumuza and Simon Tendo Kabenge repeatedly asked a witness of the former Rubaga north parliamentary candidate, Moses Kasibante, questions on issues outside his affidavit.

The Judge ordered Kabenge to stop cross examining, Michael Sserunjogi, who was Kasibante’s poll agent in the February 18 elections when he asked him to confirm that he was part a group that beat up and chased away Katongole’s poll agents from 047 Kawala Church of Uganda polling station on the election day.

The judge interrupted Kabenge informing him that he was wasting court’s time since the question lacked evidential value to the petition before him.

“Did the witness state that there was violence in his affidavit? What are you fishing for?” Musoke asked.

He became angrier when Kabenge insisted that the question was relevant.

“Don’t waste our time. I will not allow irrelevant questions. You are taking us back,” justice Musoke said as he banged the table.
