    Oshakati — Oshana Police are looking for the driver of a BMW that crashed into a bar in Oshakati on Tuesday night.

    The driver of a silver BMW with an Oshakati registration number was allegedly fleeing from traffic officers when he lost control of the vehicle.

    The car left the road and crashed into Okamule Bar in Uupindi Location along the Oshakati-Okahao Road.

    After crushing into the wall, the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and his passenger who was also hurt. The male passenger has since been admitted to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital.

    Oshana Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa, said the BMW driver was spotted driving at night with his lights off. He was allegedly speeding at the time. When traffic officers spotted him and tried to stop him, he sped off in the direction of Okahao, but lost control of the vehicle.

    Kashihakumwa said police suspect that the driver was either under the influence of alcohol or was carrying illegal stuff in his vehicle.

    Kashihakumwa said the driver is known and would be arrested soon.
