Caluquembe — The governor of the southern Huíla province, Isaac dos Anjos, urged on Friday in Calepi commune the local peasants to increase their agricultural production and thus help the Angolan government to eradicate poverty in rural areas.
Speaking a meeting with local chieftains, the governor said that the peasants that live in Calepi commune should increase the extension of the agricultural fields.
Isaac dos Anjos said that government implemented the Integrated Programme for Rural Development and Poverty Eradication in order to provide a better and comfortable living to population.
In addition, the official said that the achieved results are satisfactory, mainly inland Huíla province.
Isaac dos Anjos, who is paying a working visit to Caluquembe district, will address on Saturday a lecture under the theme “The option for economic and social development”.
