Zanaco coach Wedson Nyirenda has blamed his team for lacking character after they lost the leadership of the MTN /FAZ Super Division.
Zanaco lost 1-0 to second-placed Red Arrows on Wednesday in a Week 13 game at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Zanaco dropped from top spot to fourth place after this loss.
“I didn’t see anything that Arrows had today that warranted us a loss,” a disappointed Nyirenda said in a post-match interview.
“They (my team) did not play like they were interested in winning the game.”
Nyirenda said it was back to the drawing board after Arrows ended Zanaco’s four-match unbeaten run in which the 2009 champions have collected 10 points from a possible 12.
“We just have to work on our weaknesses we will plan for the second half of the season,” Nyirenda said.
Zanaco resume their quest for a sixth title in nine years with a big Week 14 clash away to current leaders Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
