African Origin Gets 1,000 Tickets

The match organizers of the forthcoming Ghana-Nigeria international friendly, JV2i Consult, are today expected to hand 1,000 match tickets to African Origin and Sports Tourism, official travel agents of the game, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS can confirm.

And indications are that the allocated 1,000 tickets for the August 9 clash have special features for specific locations at the match venue, Vicarage Road Stadium, intended to guard against racketeering.

The move, according to the match organizers, is necessary, following the alleged fake tickets scandal that rocked the England-Ghana international friendly at Wembley a few months ago.

“Serial numbers of all the allocated thousand tickets have been sent to the British High Commission as well as the Ghana Football Association, an initiative to differentiate the genuine tickets from fake ones,” a source at JV2i told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.

The source added: “Any ticket different from that delivered to African Origin would not be recognized.”

Ghana will take on their Nigerian counterparts in an expected crunch tie in the UK next month at the Vicarage Road Stadium.

The Stadium, with a record attendance of 34,099 when Manchester United played as guests of Watford FC in 1969, is located at Hertfordshire.

The prices of the tickets range from 15 to 60 pounds. The family ticket- two adults and two children- will go for 60 pounds (advance purchase only), while children will pay 15 pounds.
