Brazilian independent oil company, HRT Participacoes em Petroleo SA, recently launched HRT Africa at a glittering ceremony in Windhoek attended by hundreds of guests including former President, Dr Sam Nujoma, Industry and Trade Minister, Dr Hage Geingob and Foreign Affairs Minister, Uutoni Nujoma.

The company said it is confident of the presence of oil and gas in the Walvis and Namib basins which could put Namibia among the oil producing countries. HRT CEO, Marcio Rocha Mello believes that the Namibian offshore portfolio is analogous to the one present in the Campos and Santos Basins which produces the majority of Brazil’s crude oil.
