ATHLETIC Legend Kipchoge Keino has applauded marathon ace Tegla Loroupe for having won the 2011 International Olympic Committee World Trophy. Loroupe was awarded the IOC World Trophy at the women and sports awards ceremony in Lausanne in Switzerland. Keino said: “Her efforts of advocating for women rights cannot pass unrecognised since that was a great responsibility in society.”Kipchoge keino said. The former marathon world record holder Loroupe received the honour for her efforts in mobilising women and young girls in the participation, development and involvement in the Sports arena through the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation she founded eight years ago.
