Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has reportedly been priced out of a move from the Emirates after the club’s £12 million valuation was deemed too high, according to The News of the World.

The misfiring Danish striker has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs across Europe including Sporting Lisbon and Borussia Bortmund, but his high transfer price and wage demands have apparently dissuaded them from making a bid.

Sources have said that Arsenal would prefer to loan out the 23-year-old Bendtner for a season, and that his father and agent is struggling to find a club interested in buying him because of the s high fee and wages being sought.

The Danish international has been criticised by Arsenal supporters for his poor finishing, but despite this continues to attract interest from leading clubs across Europe.

Bendtner, who spent the 2006-07 season on loan to Birmingham City, made his Arsenal debut in October 2005 as a substitute in a League Cup victory over Sunderland. He has now made 79 starts for the Gunners in all competitions, plus a further 77 appearances as a substitute, and scored 45 goals.
