IBADAN – A marine and oil servicing company, Globa Bod Nigeria limited has filed a suit against a Lebanese firm, Oceanland Carriers limited in an Ibadan High Court over N13.5million debt.
Globa Bod through his counsel, Mr. Seun Ajayi also joined the company’s Managing Director, Chaouki Halawi and his Deputy, Hicham Halawi, saying the Lebanese company had allegedly failed to pay for the services it rendered to it.
According to the plaintiff, it supplied three trucks of diesel to Oceanland Carriers, a haulage company but the company is yet to pay the N13.5m being the cost of the items supplied.
Besides, the debt owed it, the plaintiff is asking the court to order the defendant to pay the interest of 10 percent from the date of judgement until final liquidation.
It explained that the defendant in February, 2011, “issued it a Local Purchase Order, LPO, jointly signed by the 2nd and 3rd defendants for the supply of 10 trucks of diesel at N137,000 per litre, which amounted to N45.2m”.
As a result of the agreement reached between the two parties, the plaintiff supplied nine trucks of diesel to the defendant, six of which were received by the transport company while three were rejected.
