20 June 2011 Cape Town — Ethiopian peacekeepers are expected to move into the contested Abyei region of Sudan under a deal negotiated between the Khartoum government and South Sudan, says the African Union's mediator on Sudan, former South African president Thabo Mbeki. In an interview aired by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) on Monday, Mbeki said talks to resolve recent conflict in Abyei and to chart the way forward had wrapped up on Sunday.

Chibia — The assistant Attorney General, Pascoal António Joaquim, said that his Justice organ will set up in 2012 a Branch Office in Chibia district, 45 kilometres off Lubango city, southern Huíla province.

The magistrate said so Tuesday at the meeting with the local administrator, Otília Noloti Vianney.

According to him, the opening of the Branch Office in Chibia will expand the justice organ and respond to the demand of crime level in the locality.

Upon his arrival Monday, Pascoal António Joaquim, met with the provincial governor, Isaac dos Anjos.

While Tuesday, he visited the local penitentiary, presided over an up-grading seminar and held talks with Prosecuting Counsel’s magistrates.
