Few weeks after the plight of baby Dorcas was made public by the press, the child’s situation is still the same as no donation has been made towards the surgery to correct the size of her head.

The two-year-old girl who is at Hope for Survival Orphanage Gishiri village, Abuja, suffers from ‘Cerebral Palsy’, an ailment that stops the skull from expanding as well as hinders the brain from proper coordination.

The child is blind, cannot walk but smiles whenever somebody touches her hand.

Our reporter gathered from the orphanage yesterday that seven persons came to make enquiry about the child’s plight when the news came out in the newspaper and the baby is in dire need of N2 million to enable her undergo the surgery to live a normal life.

A mother who visited the place appealed to the public, especially corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to help donate the money so that the child can be freed from the pains she is presently passing through.

Also speaking, Director of the orphanage, Mrs Ruth Ibrahim, said seven enquiries were received after the publication but she is yet to receive any monetary   donations for the child’s surgery.
