Huambo — The secretary of State for Water, Luís Filipe da Silva, on Wednesday in Bailundo Municipality, central Huambo Province, recommended the local government to be committed to the execution of the “Water for All” programme, so that it can reach all communities.

Luís Filipe da Silva, who was speaking at the end of an assessment visit to the Rural Development Integrated Municipal Programmes of Fight against Poverty (PMIDRCP), highlighted that it is necessary that the local government speeds up the implementation of the water for all programme.

“We’ve found some delays in Huambo Province in the implementation of the water for all programme in relation to that which is the national average (…), that’s why we recommend the commitment of the local executive”, he explained.

Luís Filipe da Silva, who is paying a two-day visit to Huambo Province, visited also a primary school and a water supply centre in Njonjolo locality, about 20 kilometres off Huambo City.

He also checked the pace of the building work of a secondary school, water treatment and supply station and health centre of Ulumdo, in Bailundo Municipality, which is about 80 kilometres off the province’s chief city.
