Luanda — The Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, left on Thursday at 8h25 a.m for Menongue district, eastern Kuando Kubango province, where he will chair an extraordinary session of the Standing Commission of the Cabinet Council.
At Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro Airport, the President was bid farewell by government officials and senior employees of the state.
The meeting, which is set for this Thursday, opens a new stage in terms of government action turned to direct talk between the executive and the population.
During his stay in Kuando Kubango province, the President is also visiting some socio-economic infrastructures such as the rehabilitation works of the local railways, the fuels storage station, the local airport and the memorial of the Cuito Cuanavale battle’s heroes.
The Angolan vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, also travelled this Thursday morning to Kuando Kubango province.
