Longonjo — The co-ordinator of the Parliamentary Commission of Enquiry (CPI), Higino Carneiro, last Tuesday in Longonjo locality, 64 kilometres to the west of Huambo City, appealed to the people to cultivate the spirit of living with respect for difference, aimed at consolidating understanding, peace and social progress.

This was said by Higino Carneiro in the end of the hearing mission in Longonjo, in the framework of the second stage if assessing alleged cases of political intolerance and human rights violations, presented by opposition UNITA party MPs.

Higino Carneiro reiterated the need for parties to focus on training their members, so as to facilitate the interpretation of socio-political phenomena recorded in the country, so that there can be respect for difference of opinions, culture and principles.

“Many of the concerns that were presented have to do with the past, so today if we come to speak with the population without humility, without recognising the mistakes and we end up threatening, intimidating, situations that stimulate rejection, which is translated into the

indifference that is being dubbed as political intolerance” he stressed.

On Wednesday, the CPI worked in Ekunha Municipality for the same purpose.
