Government has secured a 7.5 million Euro funding to support the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement System (GhIPSS) to undertake the e-zwich rural branchless banking project, Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor announced on Tuesday. Whenever I read news like the above, that we are securing funding from external sources, distresses me a great deal because we are selling off the well-being of our peoples! You have LOAN, GRANT, and FUND when discussing financial operations. If it is a loan or fund, we know it must be repaid but if it is a grant, we know it is free of interests! Obtain funding could also mean that the other party has decided to foot the bill at no costs to the Ghana government.

Patrick Vieira has called time on his Manchester City career but is unsure where his next move will take him, with reported interest from the USA and Qatar, according to The Independent.

The Frenchman was handed a 12-month contract extension at the end of the 2009/10 season but has found himself very much a bit part for City, in a season that saw them lift their first major trophy in 35 years.

Roberto Mancini has reportedly offered the 34-year old a coaching role at the club because of his influence on the rest of the team, but the veteran feels he can carry on playing the game, with rumoured interest from the United States and Qatar.

“When you have a level that is not what is desired, then it is perhaps better to decide to stop,” Vieira said earlier this month. At that stage, he claimed he was undecided. “I’m thinking. Either I go to Manchester City, or I do something else. It’s 50-50,” he told reporters.

Since Vieira’s return to the Premier League, he has been used mainly as a bit part player in Mancini’s squad with the majority of his appearances coming in the FA Cup and League cup.

Former team-mate Thierry Henry made the switch to Major League Soccer but Vieira feels he can still contribute something to the European game, although he has stated that he would not move to a mid-table team in the Premier League.
