The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh presented three gold medals, certificates and a cash prize of US$11,000 to Ghana’s ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, for winning India’s most prestigious prize in Journalism. At a grand ceremony at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, the Prime Minister conferred the Karpoor Chandra Kulish (KCK) International Award for Excellence in Print Journalism to Anas Aremeyaw Anas and two of his team members from The New Crusading GUIDE. The team won the top prize with two stories titled “Undercover: inside Ghana’s Madhouse” and “Undercover: inside the Chinese Sex Mafia”

Luanda — The State secretary for water, Luís Filipe da Silva, Tuesday left for central Huambo province, for a three-day visit where he will discuss with the local authorities several issues related to the government’s national programme to fight poverty.

Speaking to Angop, shortly before leaving Luanda airport, the government official added that during his mission in the province, he will visit various localities and projects, in order to assess the current stage of the implementation of the programmes.

Luís Filipe da Silva will also get acquainted with the implementation of the water for all programme carried out in the whole territory in order to take the precious liquid to the all rural communities and those living outside of the big urban centres.
