The President General of Road Transport Union of Liberia (FRTUL), Mr. Alexander A. Suah, Sr. has accused the Police assigned in Duala for the recent outburst of confusion at the FRTUL Parking Station in Duala, Bushrod Island.
According to FRTUL release the Police has installed an unknown Transport Union at the packing stations that were earlier controlled by the FRTUL’s personnel specifically in Duala in attempting to relocate the FRTUL elsewhere which served as a recipe for confusion among Unions.
The release noted that most of the relocation exercises that were directed by the Police, for example ELWA Packing Station were only intended to remove FRTUL personnel to bring in the unknown unions to collect money and share it with (them) Police.
The FRTUL release further stressed that it is astounding to note that while President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf with her good intention to develop and improve the living conditions of its citizens, others who are working within the government are at the same time undermining it.
In a related development the participants from the conference to improve Road Network in Africa held in Casablanca, Morocco are calling on their governments to construct more Roads and Infrastructures.
According to the release, the five days conference in Morocco was to formulate strategy to connect or link the African continent by road net work
The release says, that the President General of the Federation of Road Transport Union of Liberia, Mr. Alexander A. Suah, Sr. who attended the conference said, that the conference gave them a wider picture about the best practice of road transport and the viability of the institutions.
The release furthered that the conference demonstrated the idea and method of operating one transport union collaborating with government ministries and agencies for the smooth running of the transport sector.
