Thousands of fans including notable sports personalities and curious residents of Nyahururu town are at the Nyahururu stadium for the requiem mass of the late Olympic marathon champion Samuel wanjiru who will be buried today.
Wanjiru’s body has been transported by road from Nairobi after an earlier plan to transfer it using a chopper failed to materialize. Meanwhile Wanjiru’s mother whose bid to have the burial plans stopped was thrown out by a Nakuru court, has indicated that she may not attend her son’s funeral.
