Officials Stress Importance of Ongoing Tax Reform

    Huambo — The tax reform underway in Angola since January this year will boost the sources of fund in central Huambo province and districts, with a view to facing the need for big investment in infrastructures and basic social services, Angop learned.

    This was said by Huambo governor, Fernando Muteka, at the opening of the Inter-provincial training seminar on alteration of urban housing tax and simplified regime of taxes, promoted by the Finance Ministry.

    Faustino Muteka admitted that the goal of the Executive programme on Tax Reform (PERT) is to promote a tax reform in the country aimed at transforming the system into a fairer and more efficient instrument.

    According to him, the meeting scheduled to end Wednesday, is going at a time the first results of the work developed by PERT becomes evident, mainly in term of legislative review and update.

    The seminar was opened Monday by the State secretary of Finance, Valentina Filipe.
