Luanda — The players of the national senior males football squad, who are in preparation for next August’s continental cup, Afrobasket2011, in Madagascar, on Monday morning were submitted to medical exams that finished in a positive report.
The physician of the squad, Agostinho Matamba, informed ANGOP that three players are still to be submitted to tests, namely Carlos Morais, Armando Costa and Milton Barros, who have been abroad, but are due back in the country on 10 June.
The team, who are preparing themselves to defend the African title, will be engaged in a small training programme in the northern Cabinda Province, starting on 16 June, before leaving for France, Portugal and China, to participate in some tournaments.
In the race to Afrobasket, Angola is part of group B, with Chad, Morocco and Senegal.
The winner of the continental cup is automatically qualified for the London Olympic Games, in 2012.
