Hamburg have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Chelsea prospect Gokhan Tore after the 19-year-old passed a medical on Monday.
Tore becomes the third player to make the switch from Stamford Bridge to the Bundesliga club in the last week following the departures of Michael Mancienne and Jacopo Sala.
The successive deals would appear to have been sanctioned by former Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen, who himself recently left for Hamburg.
Tore, who has signed a deal until June 2014, told Hamburg’s official club website: “I look forward to playing for HSV. It is a club with great tradition, which is located in a great city. I will do my best for this club.”
Arnesen, meanwhile, admitted that Tore will be given time to develop with the Bundesliga outfit, claiming: “Gokhan is a young and extremely talented player, he is left-footed and an offensive player.
“He is also a physically strong player with good vision. We must, and will, give him the necessary time he needs to continue his positive development in recent years.”
