ACCESS Bank Zambia yesterday launched a deposit mobilisation campaign dubbed Access bank take the lead promotionà to motive the culture of income saving amongs Zambians especially small and medium enterprises(SMEs).
ACCESS bank managing director Mukwandi Chibesakunda said the strategy would help the bank grow its deposits and the balance sheet.
Speaking at the launch in Lusaka yesterday, Ms Chibesakunda said there was need to develop the number of saving mobilisation programmes.
She said that safe liquid deposit of reasonable yield was crucial in raising the income of most Zambians and that her bank would ensure that it continued providing customers with products that met their needs.
Ms Mukwandi said the financial sector was steadily growing hence the need to increase saving culture thereby curbing the financial inclusion gap.
There has been an upsurge of interest among developing economies in programmes that supported the increase of financial savings and increase earning.
She said that it was encouraging to note that major players in the banking sector were adopting short to medium term customer mobilisation campaigns as a strategy of attracting more customers.
