Dar Es Salaam — After a one-day recess, Simba resume training today ahead of their Africa Confederation Cup match against DR Congo’s DC Motema Pembe.The Msimbazi Reds returned home yesterday morning from Cairo where they lost 3-0 to Waydad Casablanca of Morocco in the Africa Champions League one-off playoff on Saturday.
“We except to resume training for our Confederation Cup match against Motema Pembe,” the team’s head coach, Moses Basena said shortly after the team’s arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
However, the Ugandan could not conceal his worry over the absence of some of his key players who were expected to join their respective national teams yesterday for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The players are: Juma Kaseja, Juma Nyoso, Amir Maftah, Haruna Shamte and Mohamed Banka (Taifa Stars), Ugandan Emmanuel Okwi (Uganda Cranes), Kenyans Jerry Santo and Hilary Echessa (Harambee Stars).
