Angola: FAF’s List B Candidate Pledges to Re-Launch Football in Malanje

Philips Adefioye 27 May 2011 Super Eagles defender, Taye Taiwo has described the international friendly between Nigeria and the Albiceleste of Argentina in Abuja on June 1 as a high profile match which he believes will be a one to end Argentina's domination over the Eagles at the senior level. Taiwo said the match will be another tool to set the Super Eagles on their heels ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa the same week after the Argentina match.

Malanje — The candidate of list B in the election to the chair of Angola Football Federation (FAF), Artur de Almeida, pledged on Thursday to elevate the number of teams in local championships, aiming for re-launching of this sports in the northern Malanje province, if he wins the polls set for June 16.

Artur de Almeida said so to Angop during the meeting with the chairman of the Local Football Association, Mário Alberto Machado and officials of the teams of Penandec team, Baixa de Cassanje, Ritondo and Malanje SC.

He secured that everything will be done in order to improving the football in the region.

Only three football teams are registered in Malanje province.
