Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has backed Sir Alex Ferguson to find weaknesses in Barcelona‘s team ahead of their showdown in Saturday’s Champions League final.
The Catalan side defeated United two years ago in the same fixture, but Dalglish would not write off his fellow Glaswegian.
He was quoted as saying by The Sun: “I am sure Fergie has recognised some chinks in their armour.
“When you have three players from one team in the running for World Player of the Year – Messi, Iniesta and Xavi – you are useful.
“Wayne Rooney is not a bad player, either, and Javier Hernandez has had a great season.
“So we can sit back, relax and watch it.”
The Scot, who has recently been handed a three-year contract at the Anfield club, also stressed that a lack of European football next season for the Reds should not be detrimental to their transfer hopes.
Writing in his column for LFC Weekly, Dalglish said: “I’ve heard people say us not playing in Europe means we won’t be an attractive proposition for some players. I disagree.
“The history and tradition of this club makes us attractive whether we are or aren’t involved in European competition.
“If a player thinks otherwise we are better off without him.”
