Nairobi — In the hours to come, United Nations organized meeting on Somalia opens at Nairobi, the capital of neighboring Kenya.
Somali government’s top officials, Puntland and Gal-mudug leader are invited to attended the meeting which will focused on the latest developments in Somalia.
During the meeting, all parts from UN and Somalia will shed a light on how best the transition period could be concluded.
Ambassador Augustine Mahiga , UN special envoy for Somalia, said today’s meeting is very different from the previous ones.
United Nations Security Council now appears to very keen to keep abreast of the latest political and military developments in the horn of African nation.
It is not known what the outcome will be as the period of Somali government is close to ending in August this year.
Somalia has not had any fuctioning central rule since the ouster of former military regime in 1991 when the country plunged into the lawlessness and clan warfare.
