U.S. Ambassador Reiterates Support to Education

    Luanda — US ambassador to Angola, Christopher McMullen, on Friday here reiterated his country desire to continue supporting the Angolans in the domain of education, mainly English language training, Angop has learnt.

    The diplomat who was speaking at the opening ceremony of an English language course, added that the embassy has various initiatives on the language teaching in Angola, such as scholarships for young people, teachers and experts.

    “So often young people ask me how they can increase their possibility of success. There is not secret that education is the key, mainly knowledge of English language, as it opens doors for the future job, as it is the language of the Southern Africa Development Community, of the technology and international trade”, he explained.

    The diplomat congratulated with the Club of the Young Friends of English Language of Angola for the work in the foment and dissemination of the teaching of the English language in the country, as well as the students that had the opportunity of learning or improving knowledge in English language.

    On the occasion, were granted internal scholarships to more than 100 secondary students that will attend a two-year English language training.
