China’s Top Legislator Due in Nation

Luanda — The chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Assembly of China, Wu Bangguo, will visit Angola on 22-23 May, under the strengthening of cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries.

According to the programme distributed to Angop Friday, the two Parliamentarian delegations will outline strategies on partnership in this field.

Monday, the last visiting day, the Chinese MP will be received in audience by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, as well as visit the Technological Training Centre in Luanda.

Angola and China established diplomatic ties in 1983 and since then the bilateral cooperation has been increasing, particularly after the end of the armed conflict in the country.

However, Angola has become China’s biggest trade partner in Africa, overcoming South Africa.
