Luanda — The Secretary-general of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), Helder Vaz Lopes, said on Friday in Luanda that the 2nd finance ministers meeting of the organisation will be important the member states in order to strengthen the intercommunity co-operation.
The official said so to Angop during the opening ceremony of the second meeting of the Finance Ministers of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community in Luanda.
Helder Vaz Lopes recognised that the community is under construction, and thus there is a long way to follow so that CPLP may be a relevant organisation in the light of the options of the member states.
The event is being held in Angola because the country was chosen to chair CPLP by July 2011, in the ambit of the holding of the 8th Summit of the Heads of States and Government of the community.
This event is held biennially and the first meeting took place in Lisbon city in Portugal in 2009.
The meeting was opened by the Angolan Minister of Finance, Carlos Alberto Lopes.
