A man claiming to be the biological father of the late Olympic marathon champion Samuel Wanjiru has finally emerged.
50 year Elijah Chebon, claims he fathered from a friendship with his mother Ann Wanjiru in Nanyuki town 26 years ago.
Chebon, says he lost contact with Ann when he was transferred from Nanyuki to Isiolo town unaware that she was carrying his child.
He now works in Kabarnet town with the Ministry of Local Government.
He says in 2008 when Wanjiru won the Olympics he discovered that the athlete could be his son.
On Tuesday, Peter Kimani Kirihinya, 65, of Kiambaa told journalists he was the athlete’s stepfather.
