Pep Guardiola would have no problem leaving Barcelona for a new challenge at Inter, says former great Luis Suarez.

The former Grande Inter midfielder, who won the European Cup twice at Inter and later had three spells as a coach, believes the current Barca boss would accept proposals from president Massimo Moratti.

Back in April Guardiola told Rai television his Barcelona “cycle is near its end”, leading to La Gazzetta dello Sport today claiming the Italian club was planning to lure him in the summer as a replacement for Leonardo, who is expected to vacate his position on the bench.

“Guardiola would come to Inter. We spoke about it in December. He cannot say no to Moratti,” Suarez told Sportmediaset.it.

“I have known Pep a very long time and if he was to want a new adventure then Inter will be the right team for him.

“He would do well in Italy. But Inter must decide. I have not consulted anyone on this, but I can say Guardiola would not say no to Inter.

“In Spain he has won everything, and if Inter need him I would like to see him in Milan.”

Guardiola has led Barcelona to the Champions League final at Wembley against Manchester United on May 28, with one European triumph – against the Red Devils in 2009 – already under his belt.
