Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is looking forward to Sunday’s potential title-decider against Manchester United.

Only two months ago, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were 15 points behind the Red Devils and were fighting for a top four spot.

But now the Blues could snatch top spot from the league leaders if they beat them at Old Trafford this weekend.

The west London club are three points behind Sir Alex Ferguson’s men, and are level on goal difference ahead of the clash between the two teams.

According to The Mirror, Malouda said: “We were third and wanted to be ahead of Arsenal by winning all of our remaining games.

“All we could do was win all our matches and hope United dropped points to let us back in the title race. That is what’s happened and now it is down to details in the big games.

“In these games, there is a lot of pressure but it is in the big games that you see our players’ character. We enjoy these games. We have to make sure we play at our best level.”

Malouda is Chelsea’s top scorer in the Premier League, with 13 goals to his name so far, and the Frenchman wants to increase that tally.

“It’s the best I’ve done in one season in the league, although I’ve scored more in all competitions,” he said.

“The goal against West Ham was really instinctive. The ball was there and it was like a challenge, because, if I waited half a second more, the defender would have had time to tackle me.

“At the moment I have scored more than Didier Drogba, but that is not normal. Didier will finish ahead of me, without any doubt.

“I’m pleased because there are only three games left in the season and it means I’m an important member of the squad if I am the top scorer.”
