Celtic full-back Emilio Izaguirre has suggested he will reject any proposed move to the Premier League this summer.

The Honduran international, who has been named the PFA Player of the Year in Scotland, says he is happy with life in Glasgow.

Neil Lennon would recoup a hefty profit on the £600,000 spent on the defender last summer should the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool or Aston Villa step up their reported interest, but Izaguirre says he has no intention of leaving Celtic Park.

“For me and my family, money is not the most important thing,” he told reporters.

“I want to win the league with Celtic. There is no money in the world that can replace that – you can’t buy this kind of success. That’s, for me, far more important, to keep winning titles and playing well.

“First and foremost, I’m just thinking about this season, the next four games and the cup final. That’s where my focus lies. If, after that, we sit down and talk about a contract, that’s fine. But I’m signed to Celtic for the next three years and I’m happy about that.”

He added: “The most amazing thing for me is to see my son, Emilio, so happy here. He is only two years old. Everybody here has treated us so well and I am happy to stay here. I would like to stay here.”
