Ghana’s national women team Anthony Edusei is optimistic the country will knock out Nigeria to book a passage to this year’s All Africa Games.

The Black Princesses held the Super Falcons to a shock a 1-1 draw game in the final qualifying round for the Games in Maputo, Mozambique in September.

The side remains one of the few keen to restore image and pride to the powerful soccer nation following strings of embarrassing performances for the other national teams.

The two sides will clash in the return leg in two weeks in Accra and coach Edusei is hopeful the country can qualify at the expense of the reigning African champions.

”We’re very proud of the performance of the young team and especially because they played against a much experience side but we made them to have self-belief and that worked to perfection,” Edusei said.

”We believe we can beat them here and that’s what we’ll be working on. The same way we managed to get decent result there, they can also come here and do the same, but I have absolute confident we’ll win the game and qualify.”
