Garbaharey — Fighters loyal to Somalia’s moderate Ahlu Sunna Waljama ASWJ have conducted on Friday security crackdown in Garbaharey town in Gedo region in southern Somalia.
The security crackdown comes a day after Somali forces allied with moderate Sufi group of Ahlu Sunna Waljama peacefully confiscated the town of Garbaharey from Al shabaab fighters.
Sheikh Is-haq Mursal, one of Ahlu Sunna officials in the area told Shabelle that their fighters have apprehended people accused of having close links with Al shabaab.
He spelled out that investigations are underway, and anyone is acquitted of Al shabaab linked charges would be soon released.
