Mogadishu — One of the Somali parliamentarians on Friday called for assuring peace and tranquility in turbulent town of Galka’yo in Mudug region in central Somalia.
Abdirashid Sheikh Sa’id also hailed the local clan militias to stop fighting and respect each other.
The statement of Somali lawmaker comes as new administration formed in Mudug region after firing former administration.
The new regional administration vowed that they do more in assuring peace and security in the Galka’yo.
One day ago, at least 5 people were killed and 10 others injured after two clan militias clashed in the town of Galka’yo.
Earlier, two mosques in restive Galka’yo came under attacks, killing at least 7 worshippers and wounding 14 others.
