According to him, five out of 19 constituencies’ candidates are expected to receive popular acclamation by the electorates because they are unopposed. The aspirants include; Nana Ato Arthur, a former Minister of Central Region who is contesting for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA), Ato Cudjoe for Mfantseman East and John Agyabeng, Agona East. Others are Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Assin North and Abraham Dwomoh Odoom, Atii Mokwa.
He told the paper that everything was set for the election to take off as scheduled, and that the regional executives have handed the printing of ballot papers to the Electoral Commission in order to ensure free and fair elections.
He added that security arrangements have been made for all the 19 constituencies to ensure incidents free poll. He, therefore, made a passionate appeal to all constituency executives to give the Parliamentary Election Committee room to do their work so as to enhance free and fair election.
Mr. Ejaku observed that the NPP lost in the Central Region in 2008 elections owing to improper organization of the parliamentary primaries and urged party executives to do their possible best to avoid those incidents to enhance the chances of NPP in 2012.
He again urged the candidates to avoid campaign of insults and that they should show maturity when the results did not go their way. Mr. Ejaku also urged the losers to support any candidate who will emerge winner in the primaries to make the party strong in the region.
